How to PIMP your old XP Desktop

If you want your desktop to look like this:

My Desktop

I am gonna show you how to do it…

Things you’ll need:

  • A decent computer
  • Windows XP/Vista
  • Software: WindowBlinds
  • Software: Yahoo Widgets
  • Software: RocketDock

First, Install WindowBlinds, Yahoo Widgets and RocketDock.

Then, Get some cool styles/themes for WindowBlinds here; some widgets for Yahoo Widgets here; and customize your RocketDock.

To hide your icons from the Desktop: right click on your desktop, select “Arrange icons by…” and uncheck >> “Show desktop icons”

To add another a bar on the side, create a folder on your desktop, and then drag it to the side – a toolbar is going to appear. To add icons to it, again, drag them (same with RocketDock).

To move your taskbar (start), rightclick on the panel, uncheck “Lock the taskbar” and drag it.
