Leopard-style Dock for Windows with “stacking”

Today I’m gonna show you how to get a Mac (OS X Leopard)-Style Dock for Wondows (in my case Vista) with the new “stacking” feature. Not only does this feature look cool, but it also saves a lot of room/space, so you can fit/stack as many icons as possible, especially if you have a low resolution display and/or a lot of software you want to access quickly.

So, all we need is:

  1. RocketDock (RKLauncher, and ObjectDock also support this I believe, but I prefer RD)
  2. Stacks Docklet (created by Matías Moreno, “introduced” to me by Calvin)
  3. Some Icons (you can get some here)

Once you install RocketDock, download the Stacks docklet, unzip the package, and place the folder in the “docklets” folder (by default located in C:\Program Files\RocketDock\Docklets) such that the folder called “StackDocklet” contains a folder called “Images” and a dll-file called “StackDocklet.dllOnce you do that, the feature should take effect; no restart required:

Once you add a docklet, you can go to icon properties and assign a folder and an icon:

To create docklets with just the shortcuts you want, you can simply create a folder with the shortcuts you need and add that as a docklet (see picture above)

Finally, you should get something like this:

Enjoy
